The VP, Growth will help lead Young & Laramore into its next chapter of expansion by identifying and converting the right kinds of opportunities: brands that value strategic thinking, creative excellence, and measurable impact. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP, Growth will be responsible for driving Y&L’s new business and marketing strategy—translating our creative and strategic reputation into business growth. This position will lead the entire growth ecosystem: prospecting, PR, and pipeline and pitch management, in collaboration with department heads across Account Management, Strategy, Creative and Media. 

Responsibilities:

LEAD Generation & Prospecting 

  • Develop and execute an annual growth plan and proactive strategy to identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities.  

  • Maintain a dynamic pipeline of prospects and ensure consistent outreach and follow-up. 

  • Oversee growth analytics—forecasting, tracking conversion rates, and optimization. 

Agency Marketing & PR Oversight 

  • Work closely with agency leadership to help define Y&L’s positioning in market. 

  • Manage PR consultant to elevate Y&L’s brand presence through thought leadership, PR, content, and events. 

Pitch Leadership 

  • Oversee relationships with search consultants and manage RFP responses. 

  • Shape pitch narratives and ensure chemistry with prospective clients. 

  • Serve as a lead presenter and relationship builder in pitch meetings.  

  • Partner with department leaders to shape proposals and pitch strategies. 

  • Coach pitch teams, even when not participating in final pitch meetings. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration  

  • Partner with Account Services, Creative, and PR teams to align business development efforts with agency capabilities and client needs. 

Reporting & Budgeting

  •  Track and report on new business activities.

  • Collaborate with the CEO on budgeting and resource allocation for business development. 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven success in business development within advertising, marketing, or digital media. 

  • A proven track record of developing new business pipelines and winning significant accounts. 

  • Strong understanding of agency operations and client acquisition strategies. 

  • Strategic thinker with an instinct for brand storytelling and creative excellence. 

  • Skilled communicator—credible with CMOs and persuasive presenter. 

  • Experience leading senior teams and collaborating across departments. 

  • Familiarity with CRM tools.
